The A380 airliner from Airbus will get the equivalent of 117 mpg/passenger when it is full and in a single-class configuration, according to Airbus officials. They base that figure on the plane getting 100 km per 2 liters of fuel per passenger. They also say the 840-passenger jet will be the most environmentally friendly and quietest airliner flying. So far, Airbus has firm orders for 198 of the planes from 16 customers.
