Still kicking after 50 years

May 8, 2003

Celebrating its 75th anniversary, pneumatics-component maker IMI Norgren Inc., Littleton, Colo. (www.norgren.com), kicked off a search for the oldest Norgren component being used in a manufacturing process. The winner: A filter and regulator that's been on the job for 50 years servicing a clamping fixture for a band saw at FDL-USA, Mount Joy, Pa.(www.friction-dynamics.co.uk/fdlusa.html). According to Blaine Lowry, technical director for FDL-USA, cleaning is the only maintenance the filter and regulator have seen.

For winning the competition, Norgren threw FDL-USA an on-site celebration and donated funds to charities the company designated.
