The EMB-300CP spring-applied electric caliper disc brake uses a series of springs to apply force to a friction disc

The EMB-300CP spring-applied electric caliper disc brake uses a series of springs to apply force to a friction disc. Force is released when voltage/current is applied. The electrically operated brake requires a simple two-wire hook up; is approximately 7-in. long, 5-in. wide, and 6-in. tall; produces 710 lb of axial force, and operates with a disc thickness of 12.5 mm. The brake’s normal operating voltage is 45 V, but when overexcitation is used for a quick response, the brake can operate with an overexcitation of 90 V.
