Self-locking Nytemp fasteners maintain torque and clamp load stability at temperatures to 450°F (232°C). The fasteners need no drilling or milling and are unaffected by water, antifreeze, gasoline, motor oil, and hydraulic fluids. The fasteners reportedly have the industry's highest reusability factory — 15 cycles — and meet NASA requirements for low out-gassing. The orange-colored Nytemp polymer is applied internally and externally on threads of aerospace and defense fasteners made from alloys including A286, Inco718, and Cres300 Series. The self-locking fasteners meet MIL-STD-1312 #7 torque and vibration specs as well as industry specifications IFI-124, IFI-524, IFI-155, and IFI-555.
