Sealant For Molten Metal

    A new high-temperature, single-part, heavy-duty paste is a sealant and gasketing compound for the primary metal, foundry, and smelting industries.

    Pyro-Putty 1500 is a specially formulated nontoxic sealant for containing molten metals and works in temperatures to 2,300°F. Applications include sealing argon gas in molds for special steel heats, sealing open-bottomed molds to reduce steel loss and casting fins, sealing cope and drag foundry molds, and for sealing boilers, ovens, and furnaces. Pyro-Putty will not shrink or crack on hot molds, applies faster than rope seals, won't affect the metallurgy of molten metals, and is easily removed from equipment after casting.
