Most full-color printers must pass a page through the printing process four times, a waste of time and energy.
The Xerox Phaser 7300 needs only one pass to create color prints at 30 pages/min and at up to 2,400-dpi resolutions. It will crank out black and white copies at 37 pages/min. Key to the printer's speed are four printbars and drums that handle black, yellow, magenta, and cyan sequentially. Each page passes once through a fuser to set the toners. The 7300 uses a 500-MHz processor to handle printing chores and memory ranges from 128 to 512 Mbytes. Optional hard drive (20 Gbytes minimum) speeds up frequently printed jobs. The $3,499 printer handles postcard-sized paper all the way to 12 X 36-in. banners, comes with one year, on-site repairs and free telephone and online support.
