Digitacts sensors from Pressure Profile Systems Inc., Los Angeles, use a capacitive-based pressure sensor to detect and quantify pressure.

Digitacts sensors from Pressure Profile Systems Inc., Los Angeles (pressureprofile.com),use a capacitive-based pressure sensor to detect and quantify pressure. It then converts that information into a digital format, making it well suited for embedded applications. The digital outputs can be 3.5 or 5-V signals. The sensors are less than 0.5-mm thick and measure 77-m long and 15-mm wide. They can provide pressure readings from 0 to 140 kPa (0 to 20 psi) in 0.7-kPa steps (0.1 psi).
