New Product; Microstepping driver

May 8, 2008
The RoHS-compliant R208 microstepping driver has low-power dissipation and automatic current reduction.

The driver provides 2.0 A of phase current to any bipolar stepmotor. The microstepping resolution can be set from full, half, …, and 1/8 step. The unit uses a 12 to 24-Vdc power supply to produce constant sinusoidal current waveforms. Features of the driver include optically isolated step, direction, and disable inputs; built-in thermal shutdown; efficient current-control features; recognition of step pulses from the controller from either the rising edge or the falling edge; and the ability to change the amount of holding current applied to a motor.
