Motion-Control Card

Dec. 14, 2006
The Prodigy-PC/104 controls up to four axes with advanced motion-control features.

The card accepts input parameters such as position, velocity, acceleration, and jerk, and generates a corresponding trajectory. The card provides servo-loop rates up to 50 sec/axis, an 8,000,000 count/sec quadrature encoder input, and high-speed motion trace for servo-tuning diagnostics. Motor type is software-selected on a per-axis basis and includes dc brushed, brushless, step, and microstep. Communication with the card is via PC/104 bus, CANbus, or serial port.
