Microprocessors For HMIS

Jan. 12, 2006
ColdFire MCF532x and MCF537x 32-bit microprocessors support human machine interfaces (HMIs) having flexible connection options and target embedded factory automation, health-care monitoring, and retail point-of-sale scanner applications.

The units deliver up to 211 Mips at 240 MHz and feature a built-in controller-area-network module and Fast Ethernet Controller for on-chip network connectivity. They also sport an on-chip hardware accelerator that handle leading encryption algorithms and protocols. The MCF532x has an on-chip LCD controller for HMIs using LCDs.
