Medical Parts Get A Colorful Facelift

A new collection of colors and special effects for medical devices meet the requirements of the FDA-modified ISO 10933, Part 1, tests for biocompatibility and will work with Makrolon medical-grade polycarbonates and Bayblend polycarbonate/ABS blends.

The Fantasia family of colors are compounded resins and include six opaque white options varying from cool to warmer tones, along with three opaque blues in light, medium, and dark hues. Other colors include aqua and dark blue, opaque teal, transparent gray, yellow, orange, red, green, and violet. Colors and effects in the resin family that don't meet biocompatibility requirements are options for housings and other components that don't touch patients.
