Material Products: Silicone Foams Hit the Rails

Sept. 11, 2008
Bisco L3-A silicone foams meet the demanding performance requirements of railcar flooring systems.

The foam provides manufacturers with a low-weight, low-flame, and low-smoke material for acoustic applications. The highly elastic foam reduces transmission of structure-borne vibrations and sound. The silicone foam is 25% lighter than competitive urethane or silicone foams, and complies with British BS 6853 (Cat 1a), French NF F 16-101 (M1 F1), and U.S. NFPA 130 safety standards.
