Lube-free chain

March 7, 2002
The new Xceeder Chain from U.S. Tsubaki, Wheeling, Ill., lasts up to 10 times longer than other lube-free chains, according to the manufacturer.

Key to its long life is an oil-impregnated felt seal that keeps dirt out and lubrication in. The chains also use oil-impregnated bushings to keep the chain lubed and reduce maintenance requirements. The chains, along with a conveyor and drive, are available in sizes 40 to 100. The chain itself is interchangeable with ANSI standard chains and works with standard sprockets. No special setups or system reconfigurations are needed. The chain handles the same maximum allowable loads as ANSI chain, and exceeds ANSI minimum tensile-strength requirements.
