Interactive Voice Server

May 5, 2005
Individuals may now control previously isolated pieces of equipment using fixed or mobile telephones.

The Interactive Vocal Server, or IVS, automatically answers incoming calls playing prerecorded voice messages stored in its memory. The messages include personalized greetings, interactive menus, and command prompts. Voice-menu instructions direct callers to enter a user ID and then command sequences using the telephone keypad. The IVS comes as an internal module integrating directly into the electronics of a device or as an external attachment that connects via serial port. The voice server connects to the telephone system using a standard phone jack. The module measures 66 28 15 mm.
