Five-Phase Microstepping Motor And Driver

The CRK Series of five-phase microstepping motor and driver has a drive function that reduces speed fluctuations, vibration, and noise during operation.

In microstep mode, the driver has 25 preset angle selections with up to 250 microsteps/full step. The basic step angle can be adjusted to match a two-phase stepping motor's step angles, so a switchover from the two-phase microstep mode can be done without changing input pulses. The CRK board-level driver measures 2.56-in. long by 1.77-in. wide and 0.98-in. high. It weighs 1.4 oz. The Series is available in four frame sizes: 20 mm (0.79 in.), 28 mm (1.10 in.), 42 mm (1.65 in.), and 60 mm (2.36 in.). Available motors include standard, high torque, and geared models. Stepmotor holding torques range from 3.2 to 230 oz-in. The standard tapered hob TH gear type has gear ratios from 3.6:1 to 30:1 with a maximum backlash of 60 arc-min. The planetary PN gear type has gear ratios from 5:1 to 50:1 with a maximum backlash of 3 arc-min. And the harmonic HG gear type has gear ratios of 50:1 and 100:1 with no backlash. The Series conforms to UL and CSA standards and EMC directives.
