The M8 pug connectors from Phoenix Contact Inc., Harrisburg, Pa. (www.phoenixcon.com), use Piercecon technology in which electrical contact is made by inserting sharpened connectors directly into the wire. This lets technicians use the connectors to join two, three, or four-conductor cables with wire gauges from 26 to 22 awg. And technicians do not need to solder, crimp, or screw connectors together. It is all done by hand. The connectors withstand harsh environments and comply with IP67 requirements when plugged together. They handle operating voltages up to 75 Vdc, 60 Vac, and a maximum current of 4 A.
