Distributed I/O For High Precision

Feb. 17, 2005
KL3356 analog-input bus terminals sport measurement accuracy of 0.01% and provide direct connection for resistor bridges, strain-gage sensors, and all common analog-input signals.

The new analog-input terminal was specially developed for measurement applications in high-precision control processes. Minimum measurement error is ±0.01% of the full-scale value. Signals are digitized with a resolution of 16 bits and a precision of 15 bits. The bus terminals combine two channels in a single housing. The input channels of the bus terminal have differential inputs and possess a common, internal ground potential. The circuit calibrates itself at least once every 3 min. This procedure can be synchronized by the controller to prevent the calibration from leading to a delay in the production process.
