The N6705A DC Power analyzer combines four dc power supplies, DMM, oscilloscope, an arbitrary waveform generator, and a data-logger in one instrument with all sourcing and measuring functions available from the front panel. The unit eliminates the need for multiple pieces of equipment and complex test setups. The built-in current measurement also eliminates the need for current probes and shunts. Dedicated controls for common functions let operators work with a familiar interface with each instrument function behaving like its stand-alone counterpart. The system lets the operator choose from 21 individual modules totaling up to 600 W of power.

Output speed step-voltage change is 160-µsec/step voltage change with an overall bandwidth of 5 kHz. The unit is fully compliant with the LXI Class C specification and incorporates USB 2.0, 10/100Base-T Ethernet, and GPIB interfaces. Any browser can operate the unit from its built-in Web page. The 64-Mbyte internal storage captures 30 min of data at 50-k readings/sec on all channels simultaneously. External storage via the USB interface is possible. An emergency stop button kills all output power but keeps data collection running and maintains data already collected.
