A family of conductive Noryl GTX resins is formulated for powder coatings. Noryl GTX resins are modified polyphenylene ether (PPE)/polyamide (PA) resin blends that combine PPE's dimensional stability, low water absorption, and heat resistance with PA's chemical resistance and flow properties. The powder coatings contains conductive fillers that eliminate the need to apply an electrostatic primer. They can replace metal substrates, boosting design freedom, and eliminate costly and potentially hazardous chemical pretreatments. Also, the materials make it possible to powder-coat metal and plastic on the same production line for economies of scale and uniform aesthetics.
