CAM Followers

Sept. 14, 2006
High-performance, lubricant-free composite I-CAM cam followers replace conventional metal cam followers to eliminate metal-to-metal contact, which damages steel and aluminum rails.

The followers feature high load, precision-machined composite tires installed onto ball bearings using a thermal process. The composite material carries high static and dynamic loads. The heavy-duty cam provides very-low rolling resistance and higher linear speeds. The cam's tire protects the rail from wear, reduces noise by over 10 dB, absorbs shock and vibrations, has excellent electrical insulation, and works at subzero temperatures.
