Norgren supplies doors for high-speed rail

Norgren Inc., Littleton, Colo., is supplying internal passenger rail doors, which meet the U.S. Department of Transportation's Buy America requirements, to Talgo Inc., Seattle, a manufacturer of high-speed passenger trains. Talgo will use the doors in its new Intercity Series 8 domestic train platform. More than 14,000 of Norgren's internal door systems have been installed in rail cars worldwide since they were introduced in 1987. The system's lightweight design includes an integral controller to provide passenger detection and anti-entrapment features. The design can be engineered to fit applications with limited space and is available in both an electric and pneumatic version. For more information, visit norgren.com.

Rich Ryan, Chief Operating Officer of Dorner Manufacturing, Hartland, Wis., has been elected to the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute (PMMI) Board of Directors. Under his leadership, Dorner has introduced several new and updated conveyor platforms, including the AquaPruf and AquaGard platforms for sanitary applications, and the iDrive, QWIK, and DustPruf platforms for industrial applications.
