9-mm Potentiometers

June 2, 2005
A 9-mm multiganged potentiometer, (Model P9A) measures 9.52 11.35 mm and uses a CERMET resistive element.

Professional audio users can request models (P9S) that have a conductive-plastic resistive element instead. Both types can serve in multiple-device assemblies with up to seven modules. A centered mechanical detent is optional. Resistance ranges for the P9A and P9S, respectively, are 1 K to1 M and 47 to 2.2 M by linear law, and 2.2 K to 500 K and 100 to 1 M by nonlinear law. Standard tolerance for both potentiometers is ±20% with values of ±5% and ±10% available for P9S on request. The P9A features a temperature coefficient of ±1,000 ppm, and the P9S a temperature coefficient of ±50 ppm. Insulation resistance for both devices is 100 M at 250 Vdc, and dielectric strength is 300 Vdc over 1 min. Shafts include 3.5 and 6-mm-diameters in round, slotted, flat, and knurled styles in lengths of 15, 20, 25, and 30 mm.
