Phynox alloy strip, produced by Lamineries Matthey SA of Switzerland, is a cobalt-based alloy strengthened by cold work and heat treatment. It is highly corrosion resistant in many environments, nonmagnetic, and is biocompatible. Phynox is used from cryogenic temperatures to 925°F (500º C). The alloy comes in gauges from 0.0012 to 0.040 in.
