Subminiature switch survives splashes

The DK Series of switches from Cherry Corp.

The DK Series of switches from Cherry Corp., Pleasant Prairie, Wis. (www.cherrycorp.com), measure just 0.579 × 0.213 × 0.268 in. and carry ratings of IP65. (Versions protected to IP67 levels are also available.) The switches feature stainless-steel components, gold-plated contacts, and a PBT/ASA housing. These rugged parts give the switches a minimum life of 500,000 operations.

The switches are rated for either 5 or 2 mA at 12 Vdc and operate at temperatures from –40 to 85°C, but can be modified to work at up to 105°C.
