The 18th Annual Automation Fair, hosted by Rockwell Automation, takes place Nov. 11 and 12 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Calif. This year the fair concentrates on three major themes: energy management for smart, safe, and sustainable production; plant-wide optimization; and equipment builder performance, all with the goal of preparing for better economic times.
Dept. of Energy representatives and other experts will share ideas on how to manage and reduce industrial energy costs, an important aspect of sustainable production. And combining factory controls and information technology makes productivity, globalization, innovation, and sustainability information just a few key-clicks away on the computer.
The Hands-on Labs are a popular feature that let attendees work directly with Rockwell Automation products. This year there are 14 lab sessions covering topics from Basic Drive Programming through Understanding Advanced Programming and Editing Techniques in Logix.
Five industry forums held throughout the event explore the impact of recent government regulations, aging infrastructures, variability control, and other factors that influence food-and-beverage companies, global machine builders, life sciences, the oil and gas industry, and water and wastewater firms. Tailored for those managing engineering, QA efforts, and IT, the forums offer up-to-date advice on how to reduce time to market, assure repeatable quality, security, and safety, enhance financial performance, and optimize manufacturing.
Finally, over 100 technical forums will cover 17 technical areas including control design, maintenance, intelligent motor control, networks, and wireless technologies.
