The MT 130-50-DC manipulator stage from Steinmeyer Inc., Burlington, Mass. (www.steinmeyer.com), has its encoders and cabling hidden inside the table’s housing.

And connections to the motor, limit switch, and encoder all use Sub-D connectors which are all located in a single area for easy and comprehensive access. The device can be used where precise but small motion is needed such as laser processing, miniature robotics and semiconductor manufacturing.

The table, which is constructed of anodized aluminum, can move 50 mm with 10-μm positional accuracy, 1-μm of runout flatness, and 1-μm of repeatability. It can handle loads of 30 N on each axis. The table measures 130 130 mm, with a height of 43 mm. It features preloaded cross-roller bearings, ground ball screw, and a rotary encoder.
