Let there be LEDs

May 10, 2007
An LED design kit from TT electronics Optek Technology, Corpus Christi, Tex., and IRC Advanced Film Div., Carrollton, Tex, combines IRC's Anotherm technology, a thermally conductive aluminum alloy substrate, and Optek's infrared and high-brightness visible-light LEDs.

Let there be LEDs

Anotherm lets design engineers mount visible-light LEDs and other components directly to an aluminum substrate, reducing or eliminating attached heat sinks and mounting hardware.

The kits contain three LED drivers and over 70 OVSPxBCR4 Series 1-W LEDs. The packaged LEDs come in yellow, blue, green, red, and white, with a 120° viewing angle and an ultralow, board-mount profile. Cost for the LED design kit: $650.
