Extended-travel captive linear actuator

Feb. 6, 2003

A size-17 captive linear actuator offers extended travel, a proximity switch for end of travel, and a military-style rugged connector. For hybrid captive motors, size 17 or 23, the operating maximum travel available is 2.5 in. Forces can go up to 50 lb for size-17 actuators and 200 lb for size-23 actuators. Precision per step is as low as 0.00012 in., and special antibacklash nuts can improve bidirectional precision. Typical applications include X-Y tables, medical equipment, valve control, and automation. Haydon Switch & Instrument Inc., 1500 Meriden Rd., Waterbury, CT 06705, (800) 243-2715, www.hsi-inc.com
