Right Angle Spiroid Gear Features a High Torque-to-Space Ratio

Feb. 5, 2015

Maxon introduces a new right angle gear to work with the companies 22mm and 32mm DC motors. Offering a 4:1 or 31:1 ratio it can work directly or indirectly with maxon’s brush/brushless motors, GP22, or PG32. This provides a range of gear reductions to use for multiple applications. The performance benefits include: high stiffness/low deflection with large applied loads; low backlash; up to 3:1 “gear teeth” contact ratio; quiet operation; and high torque to space ratio (HTSR) technology. This is particularly beneficial for applications in which the motor axis is perpendicular to the desired output.
