Stainless steel bellows couplings

Precision couplings Flex B and Flex K provide excellent kinematic properties with three types that offer different combinations of stiffness, radial compensation, and axial motion for high-end servo drives.

Features & benefits

  • High torsional stiffness for drive systems requiring high torsional integrity

  • High positional accuracy, low risk of resonance

  • Three or nine convolutions, or two convolutions with cardan, for different shaft alignments

  • Flex M disc-type precision coupling available for high rotational speeds and motion integrity

CD couplings

A special coupling design features a CD disc that has high torsional stiffness, yet allows for misalignment in high-stress applications.

Features & benefits

  • Using finite element analysis, the CD disc can be easily modified along with changes in composite material

  • Custom disc designs (manufactured on laser cutting machines) can add to or lessen coupling flexibility or increase strength and stiffness

  • 40 standard CD coupling models and sizes to work from; custom couplings are configured much faster than couplings using all metal components requiring special dies and tooling

Precision couplings

Servomax precision couplings are designed to handle 10,000,000 cycles at rated torque.

Features & benefits

  • Polyurethane insert damps vibration and absorbs slight shaft misalignment in lateral, axial, and angular directions while transmitting backlash-free torque

  • Where failure is a possibility and ease of maintenance critical, the EKH series allows easy installation and removal without disturbing motors and gearboxes; handles torque ranges from 15 to 19,000 in.-lb.

  • Three different insert hardness levels allow choice between torsion resistance and flexibility levels

Flexible beam couplings

Zero-backlash beam couplings are machined from a single piece of aluminum and feature multiple spiral cuts to provide high torsional stiffness and torque capabilities.

Features & benefits

  • Multiple spiral cuts accommodate angular and parallel misalignment, as well as axial motion

  • One coupling series features two sets of three cuts, suitable for light-duty power transmission applications, such as coupling a servomotor to a leadscrew; the other series features two sets of two spiral cuts and is designed for precision applications

  • Aluminum or stainless steel; 20 body sizes available with ODs from 10 to 38 mm and bores from 2 to 19 mm
