Bearings Built for Heavy-Duty Applications

April 18, 2023
At Hannover Messe, igus showcased its igutex and iglide lineup.

Stefan Loockmann-Rittich, head of the iglidur plain bearing division at igus, showcased the company’s heavy-duty and heavy load bearing lineup at Hannover Messe.

The igutex TX3 is a fiber composite plain bearing for heavy-duty applications, including swivel applications, ship-to-shore cranes and front loaders. This bearing line can be produced in custom sizes up to 1 meter in diameter.

Loockmann-Rittich also provided a rundown of the new iglide Q3E multi-layer plain bearing. It is produced by two-component injection molding, combining the properties of the igus material iglidur Q3 with a second material for the outer shell. Typical application areas include agriculture and construction machinery.

Neither product requires lubrication, an initiative igus has been promoting as part of its sustainability platform.
