PROPER LIGHTING ensures the working environment is safer and the work is done more efficiently. Enclosures often have many electronics, and reading the small print on the labels and terminals can be a challenge in low light. Even if the enclosure is in a well-lit factory, shadows from the roof of the enclosure or other devices in the enclosure might cause misreading a terminal block. In general, if you can see small wiring terminals, or read small lettering on an electronic component easier, it can save time, and prevent costly mistakes.
