Sept. 16, 2021
The Association for Advancing Automation (A3) has released the full agenda for the virtual show.

A3—the umbrella that encompasses, the Robotic Industries Association (RIA), Advancing Vision + Imaging (AIA), the Motion Control and Motor Association (MCMA) and A3 Mexico—has released the full agenda for its International Robot Safety Conference, taking place Sept. 20-22.

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the robotics industry has been highlighted as a route to retain efficiency while keeping manufacturing employees safe and in compliance with local social distancing and stay-at-home orders.

With robotics expected to take a stronger hold in a number of industries, including in healthcare, the need for more standards of operation, infrastructure and human-robot interaction has become even more prevalent.

This trade event will not only discuss new and expanded applications for robotics in a number of industries, but will also dive into standards and safety process implementation for mobile robots, cobots and other industrial robotic systems.

Sponsored by Siemens and FORT Robotics, the event will feature several topics, including:

  • Perspectives from OSHA on industrial robot safety
  • The new industrial mobile robot safety standard R15.08-1
  • The role of system integrators in robot safety
  • A review of the lifecycle of robots and safety
  • Risk assessment and safety solutions
  • Building trust in autonomous systems

The presenting companies include NIST, Universal Robots, Procter & Gamble, Vicarious, Rockwell, Applied Manufacturing Technologies, Fetch Robotics, Honeywell, FESTO, VEO Robotics, Boston Dynamics and Ford Motor Company, among others.
