Kollmorgen Motion-Packaging, Hygienic Solutions on Display at Pack Expo 2016

Nov. 4, 2016
Food and beverage hygienic solutions, as well as motor and tool packaging solutions, will take center stage at Kollmorgen's booth at Pack Expo 2016.

When visiting booth N-5908 at Pack Expo 2016, attendees will be able to view demonstrations of Kollmorgen’s hygienic solutions for food and beverage manufacturers. Also featured will be the company’s packaging solutions such as mechatronic solutions, wash-down-capable motors, and integrated development tools, among others.

Visitors to the booth can also play “Servo Boxing” and learn about how the technology benefits the processing and packaging industry. Check out the video below:

Several products in particular will be featured at the show. Topping the list is the firm’s AKMH hygienic servo motors, which have raised the bar for reliability in wash-down and hygienic design. They help reduce the risk of food recall, and eliminate the need for covers to protect motors and bagging during wash-down.

Also on display are its high-accuracy PMX Series stepper motors (see figure), which come in multiple frame sizes (08, 11, 14, 17, 23, and 34). They support a range of application, offering co-engineering capabilities such as customization of shafts, encoders, and gearboxes.

Another highlighted product is Kollmorgen’s AKD-N multi-axis servo system. According to the company, the system, equipped with a central power supply and IP67-rated servo drives, saves up to 80% in cabling. A compact multi-axis controller called the PCMM, offering coordinated control of up to 128 axes, also will get the spotlight.
