Radial lip seals, also know as oil or shaft seals, are primarily used for retaining lubricants in equipment having rotating or oscillating shafts. They can be used with most oils and hydraulic fluids at moderate pressures over wide temperature ranges and are tolerant of misalignment, dynamic shaft runout, and variations in shaft speed.
