Lead Screw Assemblies: Convert Rotary Motion to Linear Motion

March 13, 2024
Plastic lead screw nuts are an alternative to ball screws for applications

Lead screws are commonly used to convert rotary motion into linear motion, and often provide actuation to a set of linear bearings. Tribologically optimized polymer lead screw nuts — available for all standard lead screw geometries, along with specialized high-helix geometries — offer a number of benefits over standard metal nuts, including:

  • Maintenance-free operation
  • Resistance to dirt, dust and corrosion
  • Reduced wear rate
