Harmonic Drive’s strain wave gear has been aiding in space exploration and discovery for decades, including the Mars Rovers Spirit and Opportunity, in the robotic arm of the Perseverance Rover, on the wheel drives of several Lunar Rovers. Most recently, the Harmonic Drive strain wave gear has been integrated into the James Webb Space Telescope, helping to capture images and data to help scientists better understand the beginnings of our universe.
