Timing Optical Encoders’ Commutation Channels to BLDC Motors
March 8, 2022
Timing a brushless DC motor to a commutation device whether it's a hall sensor or commutating encoder is a time consuming, specialized & expensive process for motor manufacturers. Discover first-to-market, simplifying technology; download whitepaper.
Simplify and shorten the timing process. An easy-to-use handheld indicator measures the distance, in electrical degrees, of the rising edge of the encoder’s U channel from the motor’s locked winding position. By simply rotating the encoder on the locked motor shaft you can fine tune the commutation alignment with the easy-to-read digital indicator. This new tool reduces production time and eliminates back drive equipment and oscilloscopes.
