Products ranging from car engines to heart valves need to be tested for leaks and strength using pressurized air or some other gas. TwistMate connectors from FasTest Inc., Roseville, Minn. (www.fastestinc.com), let engineers hook devices up to pressurizing test equipment without having to tape and wrench them onto threaded connections. Instead, a finger-tight, twist-to-connect, pressure-assisted design lets the pressurized gas create a secure, leakproof seal. Some connectors can withstand pressures up to 10,000 psi. Sizes range from 0.125 to 4.0 in., and the connectors work with male or female NPT, BSPP, BSPT, SAE, and other metric thread profiles.
