On the Floor at Pack Expo with Altech

Sept. 13, 2023
Dave Krochta, national sales manager for Altech Corp., discusses Pack Expo 2023 and Altech’s connections to the event, as well as some of the product offerings at this year show in Las Vegas.

This year’s Pack Expo, which runs from Sept. 11-13 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, brings together packaging and processing solutions suppliers and end-users from various industry verticals, providing them with an array of new technology incorporated into existing systems.

Machine Design caught up with Dave Krochta, national sales manager at Altech, to ask about some show takeaways and why Altech looks forward to the show. The following video transcript has been edited for length and clarity.

[Pack Expo] this year has been very crowded. We came in yesterday and was hard to get through the aisles, so that was a good sign. Sometimes we go to these shows and it's not well attended. This one's been great.

For us, when I look around here, a lot of people have their machinery here. That's why we're here. Every single machine here has a control panel, and that's what all of our components go into. Most of the customers that we're looking for are exhibitors. It's a great show for that.

Every time we come to the Pack Expo, some of the biggest sales are the disconnect switches and our push button line because they're all using that inside their control panels.

The other thing that we're showing this year to a large variety of enclosures, all our enclosures from Germany, from Spelsberg. It's a perfect place for all of those. Circuit breakers are back in our line, and that's a big deal. Everybody's looking for those.
