The Bracket Competition: Down to the Last Four!

March 31, 2017
We’re down to the last four schools in our bracket challenge. Get your votes in now!

Round Three of voting in our Engineering School Bracket Challenge is finished, and the match-ups were incredibly tight, but now we’re down to the last four schools standing. This upcoming Fourth Round will take it down to just two.

Here’s how Round Three went: Purdue barely edged out Michigan and Cal Tech had an equally tough time overcoming Stanford. Georgia Tech’s Rambling Wrecks finally crashed when they went up against the mighty Beavers of MIT (the beaver is, after all, nature’s engineer). And last but not least, the Big Red Bears of Cornell managed to put away Virginia Tech.

So the champion and runner-up will be decided this week as Purdue takes on Caltech and MIT goes against Cornell. (I’m thinking the finals will pit Cal Tech against MIT.)

The engineering school that comes out on top in this year’s competition will earn itself several high-tech prizes, including Ansys software valued at $4 million, and more engineering tools from sponsors Altech Corp., Ace Controls Inc., Keysight Technologies, Lapp Group, Maxxon Motors, Schneider Electric, Tektronix, and Texas Instruments.

Anyone has who voted in all five rounds will be eligible for a $100 gift card from Amazon, and random participants will be chosen each week to receive a $50 Amazon card.

The competition is heating up and there’s not much farther to go as we take it down to the end, so come on the site, vote, and be part of the action.
