While Pack Expo 2023 will focus on big ideas for the packaging industry, it also will provide targeted attention for key areas of the industry.
Because the show opens on the 22nd anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, Pack Expo organizers are making a special effort to honor the efforts of emergency personnel and their families impacted by the events of Sept. 11, 2001.
“PMMI will match donations up to $50,000 to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, an organization honoring slain FDNY firefighter Stephen Siller’s legacy by supporting the heroes who continue to risk life and limb in the line of duty,” PMMI officials stated in a press release. “Over the past 20 years, Tunnel to Towers has delivered more than 1,000 mortgage-free homes to our nation’s heroes and committed over $500 million across all its programs. Attendees can donate to the organization when they register as well as online.”
The PMMI Foundation will the beneficiary of a special PACK Gives BACK event—a performance of the Cirque du Soleil show “O” on Sun., Sept. 10 at the Bellagio Resort and Casino. Rockwell Automation is the title sponsor of the event, and tickets can be purchased individually or in blocks of 10 tickets, which include general admission seating and drinks/snacks at the theater.
The future of the packaging industry will be another focus for Pack Expo 2023. The Future Innovators Robotics Showcase, sponsored by Bastian Solutions will highlight the work of area high school robotics design teams. The Amazing Packaging Race, sponsored by Emerson, will connect teams from U.S. colleges, trade schools and universities as they maneuver through the Pack Expo show floor to complete challenges at the exhibitor booths. They are two of many programs at Pack Expo targeting the next generation of workers.
