Multiaxis Motion On A PCI Card

July 8, 2004
Magellan-PCI motion-control cards come in one, two, three, and four-axis versions and provide features including trajectory generation, servoloop closure, onthefly changes, and more.
Cards let designers create motion systems using standard C or C++ programming. Cards support brushed and brushless dc motors, stepper motors, and communicate through PCI bus via serial port or CAN bus. Motor type can be software selectable on a per-axis basis. Cards support servoloop rates to 50m sec/axis, 5 Mcount/sec quadrature encoder input rate, on-board trace capability to 32 kwords, and pulse and direction output to 5 Mpulses/sec.
