Full Circle Leadership: A Rap Session with Weidmuller USA’s CEO Randy Sadler

Feb. 17, 2025
The president and CEO of Weidmuller USA, Randy Sadler, reflects on his full-circle journey. His unique story highlights Sadler’s deep-rooted connection to Weidmuller USA and to Richmond, Va.

In this bonus footage from an interview that Machine Design had with Randy Sadler, Weidmuller USA’s president and CEO, we learn that Sadler had worked at the company as a field sales engineer right out of high school. He said the company played a significant role in his education, funding his college while he worked there.

For the next 15 years, he progressed to various positions, ultimately serving as vice president of sales. He had higher aspirations and left the company on good terms when he said he felt the chances of ascending to president were slim under the younger leadership.

After 25 years away, during which Sadler gained extensive experience in the power generation industry, including roles at Siemens and a focus on clean energy solutions for data centers, Sadler returned to Weidmuller. His journey came full circle in 2024 when he stepped into the role he initially aspired to—leading the company he loves and where he started his career.

Sadler says he is excited about revitalizing Weidmuller USA with local manufacturing initiatives and enhancing employee opportunities. He remains committed to improving energy solutions and has actively engaged with local officials to support community resilience projects.

His return to Richmond, where his family resides, adds a personal touch to his professional journey. With more than 16 years of experience at Weidmuller USA and his rich background in energy, Sadler says he is ready to drive the company forward while maintaining its family-owned values.
