On the opening of the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) 2024, one of the largest trade shows for manufacturing technology, professionals are gathering from around the globe at Chicago’s McCormick Place. The atmosphere is filled with anticipation and purpose because, for the next six days, IMTS will offer a comprehensive look at new technologies, industry trends and opportunities for collaboration.

Sustainability, Sessions, Demos
A key area of focus at this year's show is sustainability. As the manufacturing sector faces increasing pressure to decrease its environmental impact, many exhibitors are presenting solutions designed to create more efficient processes and reduce waste. Technologies that emphasize eco-friendly practices not only support regulatory compliance but cater to a growing market demand for sustainable products and practices.
Sessions will feature industry leaders who will share their expert insights about the trends that are impacting the manufacturing industry. Topics include digital transformation, the role of artificial intelligence and the importance of workforce development.
Hands-on demonstrations are a highlight of the Expo and will allow visitors to engage directly with technology. Exhibitors are expected to showcase their latest machinery and software solutions through live presentations. That will show how emerging technologies can be used effectively.
As the first day of IMTS 2024 unfolds, the focus will not only be on the latest innovations, but also the collective wisdom of the manufacturing community. Networking is a significant component of the show, especially on Day 1, as attendees begin to reconnect with peers and build new relationships.
If you are in the Chicagoland area, the show will be going on all week in all four buildings of McCormick Place—North, South, East and West—each with specific product sectors, divided as follows:
