FactoryTalk Optix Portfolio for Designing, Testing and Deploying Directly from Your Browser

July 3, 2024
This cloud-enabled HMI platform creates an integrated design environment for visualization, IIoT, edge and data management.

Rockwell Automation’s FactoryTalk Optix portfolio is a human machine interface (HMI) visualization platform that allows users to design and deploy an HMI that is better suited to their needs. Users can conveniently download the platform from their browser or to their computer.

The FactoryTalk Optix portfolio includes Rockwell Automation’s HMI platform and remote access software, as well as Embedded Edge Compute Modules and a wide range of deployment options.

FactoryTalk Optix provides an open architecture, which brings flexibility, scalability and interoperability. It comes with features such as multi-user collaboration, web-based design and testing, and integrated version control.

FactoryTalk Optix software provides unlimited flexibility and efficiency with object-oriented design, wizard-based workflows and pre-built libraries. The solution is configured so that users can choose their own technology mix.

Rockwell Automation highlighted that users could employ visualization software to design HMI applications that work natively with both Rockwell Automation and third-party controllers and run it on their choice of hardware. The portfolio allows users to connect with various target devices to reference architecture. It interfaces with a variety of third-party software, devices or systems using software designed for interoperability and full OPC UA support.

Rockwell Automation also pointed out that users only pay for the features they need.

Check out the how-to video below for a demonstration on how this cloud-based software enables you to design and scale through seamless access to remote sites.

The 5 Core Solutions in the FactoryTalk Portfolio

FactoryTalk Optix software. An HMI visualization platform that users can access from their browser or download to their computer. It delivers flexibility, scalability and interoperability. Features include multi-user collaboration, web-based design and test and integrated version control.

OptixPanel. The graphic terminals are sealed HMI appliances that come pre-loaded with FactoryTalk Optix and FactoryTalk Remote Access software licenses. The pre-installed, closed OS is ready to run at startup.

FactoryTalk Remote Access. This facility provides secure remote connectivity. Teams can manage and respond to production issues and can quickly connect with domain experts from anywhere, thereby reducing costs associated with travel and asset downtime.

ASEM 6300 Industrial PCs. Available in box and panel form and allow for greater customization.

Embedded Edge Compute Module. The packaged solution enables users to process visual data locally and remotely and can scale needs change.
