Blind-threaded steel inserts - Penn Engineering

Sept. 19, 2010
The inserts install permanently in applications where blind, threaded holes are needed.

Atlas Plus+Tite blind-threaded steel inserts include straight shank and pre-bulbed designs that provide reliable and reusable threads for blind attachment. The inserts install permanently into single, variable, or multiple-thickness materials as thin as 0.020 in. Straight shanks accommodate a smaller mounting hole while pre-bulbed inserts install at lower loads. Inserts install with spin-pull or spin-spin tools, depending on insert type. Both styles have self-locating shoulders.
The inserts come with internal formed threads in sizes #10-32 through 3/8-16 and M6 through M10.  Threads are compatible with unified grade 5 or metric class 9.8 screws. Insert surfaces are plated for corrosion resistance. Detailed specifications (ATLAS Catalog) and free part drawings (PEM CAD Library) for these RoHS-compliant fasteners can be found at www.pemnet.com.
