PTDA aims to educate future leaders

The Power Transmission Distributors Association (PTDA), Chicago, is sponsoring an educational event for distribution executives, managers, and professionals.

The Power Transmission Distributors Association (PTDA), Chicago, is sponsoring an educational event for distribution executives, managers, and professionals. The University of Industrial Distribution (UID) is a four-day program that runs from March 4 to 7, on the Indianapolis campus at the Indiana University, Purdue University Conference Center.

PTDA and 25 other professional distribution associations sponsor UID with Purdue University. More than 30 sessions focus on the distribution industry's people, problems, issues, opportunities, and future. The UID program is designed for distributors and manufacturers who sell through distribution.

In other PTDA news, the organization will sponsor a new leadership event, The Executive Development Conference, March 1 and 2, at the Woodlands Conference Center & Resort, The Woodlands, Texas. The conference will provide attendees the opportunity to improve leadership skills, network with peers, and learn from industry experts.

CANopen seminars scheduled

CAN in Automation GmbH has scheduled several CANopen seminars to give an overview of the higher layer protocol for embedded networks.

The seminars are scheduled for the following dates and cities:

  • March 19, Houston
  • March 21, Cincinnati
  • March 22, Toronto
  • September 24, Atlanta
  • November 13, San Francisco
  • November 15, Denver

The seminars review technical opportunities of basic and additional protocols. Important aspects of system design will be demonstrated. Instructors will highlight CANopen device and application profiles that enable a high degree of plug-and-play compatibility between devices.
