New Product: Rocker Switches

April 24, 2008
The JWL Series of dc-rated power rocker switches, rated at TV-8, handle large inrush currents.

The switches have an interior polyphenylenesulfide seal between the actuator and contact area to resist dust. External insulating barriers increase insulation resistance and dielectric strength. The switch housing and case are heat-resistant polyamide. Molded-in and epoxy-sealed terminals resist dust and flux and are designed to break light contact welds. The switches are rated at 16 A at 125/250 Vac with a 5 A at 72-Vdc rating for applications such as a power-distribution switch, can exceed a 160-A inrush load, and can be specified with integrated flat or barrier flanges. Optional accessories include a watertight boot and dust cover.
