A 20-mil pitch X-Y linear stepper motor features microstep resolutions of 1 µm. It improves accuracy and cycle time in wafer-probe machines making the air-bearing stage suitable for high-accuracy semiconductor manufacturing and test. Units don't exhibit oscillations, therefore secondary operations such as trimming, test, or inspection can take place on a stable motionless platform. Plus, units are backwards compatible with previous and obsolete models, replacing older motors. The motor forcer can be purchased separately or with bases for 150, 200, or 300 mm or larger custom travels.
